Licence
You may reuse this record
Two layers, with different terms, and it matters which one you are using.
The underlying source
Florida DBPR and Virginia DPOR extracts are public records published by those agencies. Their terms are the agencies' own; nothing here restricts them.
The compiled record
Dwellory's compilation, which is the selection, normalisation, cross-jurisdiction alignment and cohort aggregation, is published under CC BY 4.0. You may copy, adapt and redistribute it, including commercially, provided you attribute it.
Attribution can be as short as: Compiled record: Dwellory, https://dwellory.org.
The data file
the public data manifest is the publishable record. It indexes every published file with its as-of date, its source and its record count. ⛔ It indexes no natural person: the per-jurisdiction files it points at carry firms, counts and cohorts.
⛔ What the data file deliberately omits
The underlying registers are licensure records whose subjects include private individuals: Florida CAM licensees and Virginia certificate holders. The published record therefore carries counts, cohorts and firm-level rows, and never a natural person.
- Individual licensee and certificate-holder rows, in every jurisdiction.
- Any name, address or identifier belonging to a natural person.
- Contact emails, which are present in the Virginia source on 99% of association rows and are withheld to a directory outside every deploy tree.
★ This is a property of the licence as much as of the file: a permissive licence over a record containing what should not be republished is worse than no licence at all, because its whole function is to invite redistribution.
⚠️ The licence covers reuse. It is not a warranty. Registers are amended continuously and a status here is a reading on a stated date; verify against the state register before relying on one.
